Jakarta, June 28, 2016 – PT FWD Life Indonesia (‘FWD Life’), a life insurance company in Indonesia and alms agency Dompet Dhuafa today signed an partnership agreement to implement the socio-economic empowerment program for the public, #FWDBebasBerbagi. Carrying the theme LIVE FOR NOW, which is the spirit to live in and share the precious present moment, FWD Life urges the entire Indonesian public to live and share the present precious moment by participating in the #FWDBebasBerbagi campaign to improve Indonesians’ social economy which they can do easily, supported by the digital platform.
FWD Life President Director Rudi Kamdani explained, “Our strategic partnership with Dompet Dhuafa is expected to continuously increase the number of entrepreneurial businesses as well as develop quality human resources, thus increasing employment opportunities. Through this program, FWD Life will support the passions of Dompet Dhuafa’s protégés by strengthening and honing in on their entrepreneurship skills, allowing them to be independent and contributing to the national economy,” Rudi said in Jakarta (28/06).
Rudi added that the execution of this program is in line with the Ministry of Industry’s program to develop 1.170 entrepreneurial businesses by 2017 as well as the financial literacy program targeting the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises initiated by the Financial Services Authority by helping them realize their passion for a sustainable business through the #FWDBebasBerbagi campaign.
In the moments leading to Eid al-Fitr, FWD Life urges the public to participate in the #FWDBebasBerbagi campaign by sharing their Lebaran gifts with those in need by clicking “Share” on the post from FWD Life Indonesia’s official Facebook account (www.facebook.com/fwdlife.id/), using the #FWDBebasBerbagi hashtag on their Facebook account and tag 5 of their Facebook friends starting from June 28 to July 15, 2016. For every shared post, FWD Life will donate Rp 5,000 to assist Dompet Dhuafa’s protégés who have financial limitations and help them realize their passion for a sustainable business. These donations are expected to reach a maximum target of Rp 25,000,000 from 5,000 shares.

Aside from being recipients of the donations, Dompet Dhuafa’s protégés will be given the opportunity to sharpen their business acumen through various practical tips given to build strong and sustainable business foundation and sound financial management. FWD Life has also teamed up with DreamLab, a strategic brand consultant to hold educational classes in which the participants will be provided with knowledge on marketing through the digital platform to expand the market reach of the products produced by Dompet Dhuafa’s protégés.
Dompet Dhuafa Philanthropy President Director, Ahmad Juwaini explained, “The partnership which is supported by the digital campaign will reach the public at large to spread the message of caring for others. This will stimulate the public to participate and together develop community empowerment especially in the social and economic aspects. This empowerment program is expected to be one of the solutions that can eradicate poverty in Indonesia which affects 28,51 million people or 11.13% of the total population in Indonesia (Central Bureau of Statistics Data, September 2015). We are optimistic that the partnership can run maximally in the long-term,” Ahmad said.
Ahmad said that in an effort to utilize the social donations raised to eradicate poverty, Dompet Dhuafa introduced various programs, especially in the economic sector. In the economic sector, Dompet Dhuafa implemented empowerment programs for breeders, farmers, fishermen, creative industry professionals and Small, Medium-sized Enterprise owners.
“Dompet Dhufa’s empowerment program in the economic sector is indeed a long-term one. Not only Dompet Dhuafa provide capital support, we also intensively liaise with the program’s beneficiaries. We train them, instill values in them. Thus, we expect not only to improve their economy or financially for the better, so they will be empowered, but we also promote character change into a much better personality,” Ahmad added.
With this partnership, Ahmad hopes to be able to maximize empowerment for the beneficiaries. The program is not limited to raising funds, as it also seeks to revolutionize the beneficiaries through training. This will help expand their horizons and make them highly-skilled, turning them into independent and empowered inviduals.
